Sustainable development
and the revaluation of co-products
With the planned end of oil in about forty years and of petrochemicals, we must already be thinking about sustainable containers, as alternatives to plastic bags and cutlery.
This has led our company, at a socio-economic and cultural level, to build bridges.
with the non-profit sector, in particular with the association "On Pannyé On Kwi".
This is a social enterprise whose activity consists of manufacturing eco-designed objects in
the framework for setting up a basketry workshop for environmental protection and the depollution of our territories.
This is done by managing waste at the source through the use of baskets and kwis (calabashes cut in half).

To achieve this, the association works with 100% natural raw materials sourced from our biodiversity, such as vines and bamboo for basket making. They then collect gourds from our plantations, remove the pulp and nuts, and use them to create eco-designed objects. Our company then extracts the gourd seeds to produce gourd oil.
Thanks to this complementarity of our activities in totally different disciplines, we create jobs while perpetuating tradition and ancestral know-how, always with a concern for the protection of our environment.
In parallel, our oilseed production unit is working to repurpose co-products from vegetable oil manufacturing. For example, the seed hulls of these oilseeds are used to produce activated charcoal, and the recovered oilseed cake is used as animal feed.
